She dedicated her life to Jehovah God and was baptized on September 18, 1949. On July 8, 1950 she married William Harrison Mason. Lula pioneered (participated in the full time bible based witnessing work as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses) for over 50 years. In her volunteer work she traveled extensively in her ministries. She enjoyed assisting Kingdom Halls in building up their congregations along with her husband (moved to serve where there were greater needs at Flint Michigan, Union City Tennessee and Nacogdoches Texas). Lula was a loving mother to her children and impressed upon them the importance of living within bible based principles and in following the example laid out by Jesus Christ. She and her husband “Bill” also served as Foster Parents, who were privileged to touch the lives of various young ones growing up under their care. Lula is survived by her son, William Stadler (& wife Joyce) Mason of Texas City, Texas; daughters, Sharon Rose Garrett of Houston, Texas, Rhonda Doreen (& husband, Edward) Carter of Princeton, Texas; brothers, Hulon Banks of Cleveland, Ohio; Richard (& wife Barbara) Banks of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, Cora (& husband, CW) Appling of Massillon, Ohio; Special Aunt, Lovey Herring of Massillon, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Penson and Rosie E. Banks; husband, William Harrison Mason. Some of Lula’s Favorite Scriptures: “I have hope toward God…That there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Acts 24:15 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry, nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Rev.21:4
