Loxla Hill Stayton, 81, of McKinney, Texas passed away August 27, 2011. He was born November 28, 1929 to Loxla and Oakless (Brossett) Stayton in Belcher, Louisiana. Loxla received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana State University upon graduation he then served in The United States Army. He married Dorothy Jean Aaron on August 15, 1954 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He started his career in the Oil Industry with Arkansas Fuel Oil prior to their acquisition by Cities Service Oil Company and retired from Occidental Petroleum in 1985 as Vice President of Exploration & Production - US Interior. He was active in numerous Industry Associations and Volunteer Organizations including United Way and Habitat for Humanity. Lox is a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in McKinney, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Stayton of McKinney, Texas; son, Robert J. Stayton and wife Robin of The Woodlands, Texas; daughter, Jean Stayton of Allen, Texas; grandson, Zachary Stayton, granddaughters, Taylor Stayton Griffith (and her husband Gavin) and Sarah Brown; sister, Virginia Whittington, Shreveport, Louisiana and several nieces and nephews. Lox was preceded in death by his parents and sister Margie Rambin. A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 2, 2011 at Trinity Presbyterian Church located at 5871 Virginia Parkway, McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening beginning at 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow. Memorials may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church or The Alzheimer’s Association or to a charity of your choice.
