Louise B. Smith

Louise B. Smith, age 79, of Allen, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on August 20, 2013. She was born on April 21, 1934, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Elmer Jackson and Ruth Edens Bible.   On June 24, 1955, she married Richard Leon Smith. She went to high school at Karns High School in Knoxville and graduated in 1952. She attended Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee. She worked as a supervisor for Southern Bell Telephone after college. She was an active member of First Baptist Allen, a member of their senior choir and one of the founding members of the Silver Sneakers exercise group in Allen.   She loved to travel and took many trips with her husband, and most recently a trip with all her family in July to Anchorage, Alaska.  

Louise is survived by her brother Bud Bible of Albuquerque, NM; son, Greg Smith of Boulder, CO; daughter Risa Smith Heussner and her husband Steve of McKinney, TX; grandson Eric Heussner of Anchorage, AK; granddaughter, Kimberly Heussner of Oklahoma City, OK; brother-in-law David Smith of Lexington, KY; sister-in-law Gail Smith of Boulder, CO and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her mother, father and husband of 52 years.  

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Allen, 201 E. McDermott, Allen, Texas 75002. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Allen.
