IN LOVING MEMORY

Louise Tillerson Pruitt Powers

Nov 07 1924 - Oct 26 2011

Collin County lost one of its most beloved ladies on October 26, 2011, when Louise Tillerson Pruitt Powers lost her long battle with cancer. She was born November 7, 1924, three miles from her beloved Alla Hubbard School, the daughter of Raymond and Jessie Flanery Tillerson, early pioneer residents of Collin County. Louise established an early and long career in banking while residing in Bakersfield and San Luis Obispo, California. Returning to Texas in 1959, she accepted an accounting position with Collins Radio in Richardson, Texas, later moving to the position of administrator of government contracts with Rockwell International. She retired from Rockwell in 1987 and accepted a position as an outside representative for a travel agency, and traveled extensively through Europe. In 1989, she married Dr. Richard Powers of Virginia. Louise was a former member of the International Club and the Rotary Club. She is survived by one brother, G.W. Tillerson of Irving; two daughters, Sondra Pruitt Redden of Avinger, Texas, and Cynthia Pruitt Ferguson of Allen, Texas; one son, Wayne Pruitt of Dallas; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two nephews, numerous wonderful cousins, and so many, many friends. A Funeral Service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Celina on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Cliff Lester officiating. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held at 1:30 PM prior to the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the MS Society at National MS Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163 or http://www.nationalmssociety.org/donate/index.aspx.
