Louise Merriman

Louise Merriman, age 94, of McKinney, Texas, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on February 3, 2013. Louise was born February 27, 1918, in Plano, Texas, to Okley Curtis and Grace Truman (Eldridge) Reed. She married J. B. Merriman on September 25, 1937, in Plano, Texas. They immediately moved to McKinney, where she spent her life supporting her husband and their farming and ranching business. Louise loved to paint and to garden and was a member of the Art Club and Garden Club as well as numerous other community organizations. Louise was a member of First Baptist Church in McKinney where she taught Sunday School and rocked babies in the nursery.   Most importantly, she was a dedicated wife and mother and was loved dearly.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Merriman of McKinney, Texas, Marcia Matzinger and husband, Bob of Spokane, Washington, and Barbara Bridges also of McKinney; grandchildren, Jennifer Stover and husband, Jeff of McKinney, Texas, Beverly Bridges of Columbus, Georgia, and Stacey Bridges of Austin, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Natalie Stover and Tyler Stover, both of McKinney, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at First Baptist Church of McKinney, 1615 W. Louisiana St., McKinney, Texas. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.

The family suggests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church Senior Adult Ministry and/or the Children’s Ministry.
