Lorraine Marie Sheldon

Beloved wife and mother, Lorraine Marie Sheldon, age 60, of McKinney, Texas, passed away May 13, 2008, at her home. Lorraine was born August 30, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Stephen P. and Anne (Traynowicz) Baska. She grew up in Nebraska and was graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a bachelor of science in business administration degree. Lorraine married William T. (Bill) Sheldon on November 29, 1969, in Omaha, Nebraska. After moving from Omaha, she and her family resided in many areas of the country including Chicago, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. before settling in the DFW area. Before retirement, she was an activities director in an Alzheimer’s care facility. Lorraine was a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic community, a student with S.A.I.L. (Seniors Active in Learning) at Collin College in Plano, Texas and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her husband, Bill Sheldon; their son, Todd Sheldon and his wife, Krista of McKinney, Texas; their daughter, Kim Sheldon of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Doug Sheldon, Kelly Sheldon, and Billy Feather; sisters, Beverly Cavanaugh of Omaha, Nebraska, Caroline Dodge of West Linn, Oregon and Nancy Bidrowski of Lincoln, Nebraska; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Stephen and Anne Baska. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 16, 2008, at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 6:00 PM and a rosary following at 7:00 PM on Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at St. James Catholic Church in Omaha, Nebraska. A visitation and a rosary will be held at 6:00 PM, Monday evening at Heafey-Heafey-Hoffman-Doworak-Cutler Funeral Home in Omaha. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha.
