Loretta M. Herrmann

Loretta M. Herrmann, age 80, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2016. Loretta was born January 29, 1935, in Fullerton, Pennsylvania, to Clifford Allen and Leah (Bennyhoff) Reese. She graduated from Quakertown High School in 1952, and from Cedar Crest College in 1956. Married to Armin F. "Sam" Herrmann, Jr. of Allentown in 1956, she lived an active and happy life as an Air Force wife, mother, and volunteer, finally retiring in Dallas, Texas in 1985. Loretta had many interests, including brailling (she was a Library of Congress certified literary braille transcriber), continuing on-line education, Bible and Torah study and reading. She enjoyed her family and dogs, the beach, playing the piano, taking up the cello at age 70, and playing cards with her friends. One of her greatest joys was lively conversation.

She is survived by her children, Martha and Ron Greene of Cheraw, South Carolina, Andrew and Katie Herrmann of Farmers Branch, Texas, Gretchen and Adam Shackleford of Plano, Texas, and John and Becky Herrmann of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Heidi and Dustin Shackleford Hibner of Mansfield, Texas, Jacob and Kate Shackleford of Cranston, Rhode Island, Justin, Christian, Allison Herrmann of McKinney Texas, Derian, and Samantha Herrmann of Farmers Branch, Texas; and great-grandchild, Addison Hibner of Mansfield, Texas.   Her surviving sister-in-law Audrey Schweyer and husband Lee live in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
