Mrs. Lorene Taylor Lewis, age 88, of McKinney, Texas passed away January 16, 2007. She was born January 20, 1918, in Alvarado, Texas to Van Buren and Martha Elizabeth Amburn Taylor. On February 24, 1937, she married Roy Lee Lewis in Plano, Texas. Mrs. Lewis attended the First Baptist Church in Wylie and was a former member of the Lucas Christian Church. She is survived by her three grandchildren, Darrin Lewis, Jennifer Altemus and Misty Gibbons; brother, Eddie Taylor of Kansas; sister, Louise Salisbury of Pawnee, Illinois; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Lewis and seven brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2007, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Keith Spurgin officiating. Interment will follow at Kreymer Cemetery in Wylie. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
