Lorena Glen Rasor

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven Eccl.3:1. She went to sleep and woke up in Heaven on Monday, May 10, 2004. She was born October 21, 1906, on a farm outside of Allen, Texas to John S. Rasor and Mittie Bush Rasor who were pioneer farmers of rural Collin County. She was inspired as a young girl to go into nursing because of an eye injury. She entered Baylor Nursing School at the age of 17 and graduated in 1928. She was a registered nurse for over 40 years in both Baylor Hospital-Dallas and Wysong Clinic in McKinney. Later she also worked as a private duty nurse. She loved Ballroom Dancing and participated in competitions for several years. She traveled all over the world and was an avid reader. She was long time member of Central Park Baptist Church and later was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church. She married Jack McLane on August 23, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1975. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Gough Rasor and John Henry Rasor (“H”). She is survived by her sister, Sue Catherine Rasor Carter of Frisco, Texas; and her only child, Judy McLane Miller and husband, Laurel Miller of Plano, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, David W. Hamilton and his wife, Cheryl of Lewisville, Texas, Cathie L. Hanna and her husband, Edward of Corinth, Texas, and Dena L. Hamilton of Garland, Texas. She is survived by her great-grandchildren, Kristin, Matthew, Hillary, Jared, Holly, Melissa and Tyler. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many loving friends. Her family is deeply grateful to the wonderful people at IHS Village in Richardson, where she has lived since 1993. A special thank you goes to her sweet and wonderful guardian angel, Daisy Stoddard, as well as so many wonderful people who came to be like family, Holly Crenshaw, Philomena Askunne, Austin Maduakalam, Amos Tololum, James Adedobwale, Larry Bell, Billy Rotomi, Meaza Sentayehu, Rosemary Ezeadikwg, Matthew Ajakaiye, Eirine Arbormbay, Carl Sneed, Shirley Sheppard, Yolanda Beacham, Sherry Randouph, Sandra Watson, Stephanie Stoker, Kim Bukowsky, Helen Smith and the rest of the loving and caring staff at IHS Village in Richardson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Rowlett Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Friday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
