Lona Mae Gray, age 93, of McKinney, Texas passed away March 5, 2011. She was born on August 17, 1917, in Melissa, Texas, to David Aaron and Era (Agee) Cantrell. On August 25, 1934, Lona married William Thomas “Billy” Gray, in McKinney, Texas. Lona grew up in the Collin County area; she worked as a seamstress at Haggar for many years, as well as an assembler worker at Luminator, a cafeteria worker at West Ward Elementary, and she also worked for Crump’s Garden. Lona enjoyed painting, crocheting and needlepoint. She attended McKinney Church of God. She is survived by her children, Bill Gray of Corpus Christi, Texas, Anita Duncan and husband Jimmy Roy of McKinney, Texas, Jimmy Gray of Trenton, Texas, and Diane Ramsey and husband Ron of McKinney, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nina Clark of Fort Worth, Texas; and a host of other family and friends. Lona was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Cletis Ray Gray, and fourteen brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Monday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation Monday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
