Linda Harris Rea

Linda Harris Rea, age 55, of Plano, Texas passed away February 11, 2005. She was born August 30, 1949, in Jackson, Mississippi to L.B. and Bobbie (Jones) Harris. On August 30, 1969, she married Paul Rea in Jackson. Mrs. Rea worked for the Plano ISD with almost 25 years of service. For over 18 years, Linda touched students and parent’s hearts with her love, passion and commitment to teach. Linda was very involved with school and community activities. She was the Safety Patrol Sponsor for Aldridge Elementary in Richardson, Texas and a very active Golden Girl Booster club mom. She received many honors, including the Superintendents Service Award and a PTA Lifetime Membership Award. Linda loved life and touched everyone she knew with her happiness and joy. A beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher and friend. Being “Mimi” to her beautiful granddaughters is what brought that twinkle to her eye and what she loved and enjoyed the most. Her spirit of tenderness, happiness and joy will be a lesson of inspiration for those of us left missing her. She is survived by her husband, Paul Rea of Plano; two daughters, Angela Asplin and husband, Bob of Highland Village, Texas and Casey Rea of Plano, and two sons, Daniel Rea and wife, Isamar of Plano, and Brent Rea and wife, Jaime of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Amanda, Ashleigh, Allison, Haylee and Brooke; parents, L.B. and Bobbie Harris of Jackson, Mississippi, sisters, Nancy Strickland and Denise Duell both of Jackson, Mississippi; mother-in-law, Itaska Rea of Clinton, Mississippi; and brother-in-law, Robert and wife, Kay of Melissa, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2005, at Richardson Heights Baptist Church, 201 W. Renner Pkwy., with Rev. Stephen Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Wednesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
