Linda Jean (Barcuch) Horne

Linda Jean (Barcuch) Horne was called home to paradise on May 27, 2014 in Plano, Texas. Linda was born on October 13, 1945 in Temple, Texas to Edward and Sybil Barcuch.

Linda graduated from Temple High School in 1964. She went on to receive her master’s degree in nursing from Texas Women’s University. Her passion for teaching and nursing led her to a long career as an educator at Grayson College. The same passions led her to become a registered hypnotherapist and Jin Shin Jitsu master.

Linda was a member of Creekwood United Methodist Church in Fairview, Texas and had an unwavering faith in Christ.

Linda married Lloyd Bradley (Butch) Horne in Temple, Texas and they raised their two sons, Derek and Jason, in Allen, Texas. Her granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emily Horne brought her much joy and serve as a wonderful legacy to her.

Linda is survived by her sons, Derek Horne of Allen, Texas and Jason Horne of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Emily Horne of Dallas and Elizabeth Horne of Statesboro, Georgia; sister, Maidene Lawler of Lott, Texas; Niece, Shannon Lawler; Nephews, Bruce Barcuch and Glenn Lawler Jr.; family friend, Teresa Williams; loving canine companion, Tabasco; and many friends, family and students.

Linda was preceded in death by, and has rejoined her husband, Butch and brother, Edward Barcuch.  

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Fitzhugh Cemetery in Lucas, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
