Lillie Joe “Jodie” Reed, age 78, of McKinney, Texas, passed away March 4, 2012, in McKinney. Jodie was born December 12, 1933, in Frisco, Texas, to Charles Calvin and Beatrice Gladys (Morran) Roberts. She married Ocy Gordon Hale on November 12, 1948 in McKinney. He preceded her in death on August 20, 1995. She later married Walter Carroll (Pete) Reed on November 19, 1995, in McKinney. Jodie grew up in Collin County and attended schools in McKinney. Jodie enjoyed fishing, shopping, interior decorating, and loved to decorate for Christmas. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. Jodie was a member of Northwest Christian Church in McKinney.
She is survived by her husband, Pete Reed of McKinney, Texas; children, Montey Hale and wife, Misty of Trenton, Texas, Penney Lewis and husband, Bill of Plano, Texas, Don Hale and wife, Dotty of Little Elm, Texas, and Connie Capps and husband, Ron of Princeton, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Roberts, Jerry Roberts, Tommy Roberts, W. A. Roberts, and Ronnie Roberts; sister, Peggy Bourland; and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Don Hale, Jr., sister, Dorothy Gibbons, and brother, Lester Roberts.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home.
