Leslie Clifton Settle, age 80, of Whitesboro, Texas, passed away March 30, 2007 in Sherman, Texas. He was born June 30, 1926, in McKinney, Texas to Leslie Simon and Clefa Belle (Johnson) Settle. On November 28, 1944, he married Laura Frances (Polly) Wortham. She preceded him in death. On May 17, 1997, he married Mary Welch Gann in Whitesboro, Texas. Leslie was a foreman at Desoto Paint in Garland. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Mary; children Mickey Cody of Anna, Texas and Bob Settle and his wife Pat of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren Lisa Colombe, her husband Chris and their children, Conner, Cameron and Erin, Michael Cody, his wife Kourtney and their children, Cheyenne, Jacob and Joshua, Richard Gonzalez and his wife Nikki, Robert Gonzalez and his wife Paula and Kevin Stephens and his wife Sindy; and numerous other great-grandchildren; step-children, Jane Pugh and husband, Joe, Mary McGlasson and husband, Lee; four step-grandchildren, Ryan and Russ Pugh, Teri Keck and Chrissy Williams; six step-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Georgia Smith of Melissa, Texas, Ida Bennett of Westminster, Texas, Barbara Hunter of Sherman, Texas and Suzie Matheny of Anna, Texas. Leslie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clyde and Benny Settle and sister, Joyce Kee. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Roy Spore officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Chapel. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Sunday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
