Lera Mae Jenkins, age 88, of McKinney, Texas, passed away at Baybrooke Village Care on March 23, 2008, in McKinney. She was born October 15, 1919, in Hunt County, Texas, the daughter of Admah Christopher and Lottie Mae (Goodman) Eastup. On October 10, 1936, she married Roy Edward Jenkins in McKinney. He preceded her in death in 1995. Mrs. Jenkins was a member and Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church of Melissa, First Baptist Church of McKinney and North Baptist Church of McKinney. She was a current member of Calvary Baptist Church of Anna, Texas. She is survived by her sons, Rodney E. Jenkins and his wife Susie of McKinney and Ronald K. Jenkins and his wife Linda of McKinney; daughter, Sondra Seamster and her husband Don of Abilene; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Wesley Eastup of Floyd, A.C. Eastup, Jr. of The Lake of the Pines, TX and Billy Ted Eastup of Greenville; and sisters, Ann Steed of Hawkins, TX, Barbara Henderson of Caddo Mills, Betty Schwene of Greenville and Wanda Ayersman of Rockwall. Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; sister Pernita Curtis; and brothers, Duward Aldolphus Eastup and Jerry Lee Eastup. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Dr. Charles Vance officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
