Leona E. Wright, age 93, of Stillwater, Minnesota, passed away January 6, 2008, in Audubon, Iowa. Leona was born June 20, 1914 to Hans and Sena (Sorensen) Petersen. She married Harold Bell Wright in 1932 in Missouri. Leona was an LPN during World War II and worked part-time in the profession for some years. Leona lived most of her life in Marshalltown, Iowa and McKinney, Texas where her husband, Harold, was employed with Fisher Controls. She was an avid golfer and bridge player, in addition to being a member of Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown. Leona was also a member of Eldorado Country Club in McKinney, Eldorado Women’s Golf Association, and Eldorado Ladies Association. While in McKinney, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, Eugene and his wife, Sherrill; grandchildren, Robin Moyer and her husband, Tom and Steven Wright and his wife, Sara; great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kevin Moyer and Harmony Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, brother, Hans Petersen, sisters, Rosie Roth and Annie Petersen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday, March 6, 2008, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
