Mrs. Leona Mae (Tommie) Griffin of Sherman, Texas formerly a resident of Farmersville, Texas passed away July 7, 2015 in Sherman. She was born July 9, 1921 in McKinney, Texas the daughter of Charles A and Rosa E. Parvin Hayes. She worked for Varo in Garland, was a seamstress for Henson’s of Greenville and was a homemaker for more than 75 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmersville, Texas. She married C. H. Griffin December 23, 1939 in Pike, Texas. She is survived by her husband, C. H. Griffin of Sherman, Texas a sister; Johnie Fae Owens and husband James of Whitewright, Texas and nephew, Charles V. Owens and wife Beverly of Tom Bean, Texas and nieces Diana Poplin and husband Johnny and Sharon Coleman and husband Gary all of Farmersville. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Charles L. Hayes and a sister Ruby D. Hayes of Blue Ridge, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville, Texas with Rev. John Foster officiating and interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Farmersville. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Farmersville.
