Leatrice Joy Bailey Wiggins, age 83, of Garland, Texas, passed away October 16, 2011, in Garland. Leatrice was born December 2, 1927, in Tahoka, Texas, Lynn County, to Charles Anderson and Mary (Clark) Bailey. She married Weldon Wiggins on July 6, 1945 in Paris, Texas. They were married forty-five years until his death in November of 1990. Leatrice was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Garland for many years. She is survived by her son, Jerry Wiggins and wife, Pam of Garland, Texas; daughter, Linda Bearden and husband, Tom of Elmo, Texas; daughter-in-law, Judy Wiggins of Amory, Mississippi; sister, Billie Whiting of California; brothers, James Bailey of Georgia, Cecil Bailey and Clarence Bailey, both of California; grandchildren, Mary Clem, Margaret Clem, Misty Scott and husband, Tim, Mart Clem and wife, Joann, Roy Wiggins and wife, Erica, Douglas Wiggins and wife, Jayme, Weldon Luttig and wife, Angie, Jerry D. Wiggins and friend, Savannah White, and Elbert Luttig; great-grandchildren, Phillip, Jerrell, Wyatt, Danella, Elizabeth, Dayton, and Wes; a very special friend, Ilawane Armstrong and her granddaughter, Kelly; sisters-in-law and brother-in law, Vivian and Frank Corder, Eliza Mitchell, and Martha Wiggins; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Bailey, husband, Weldon Wiggins, son, Douglas Wiggins, daughters, DeLois Wiggins, Beverly Luttig, and Carolyn Clem, sons-in-law, Mart Clem and Jack Celli, brothers, Hershel, Dee, and Kenneth Bailey, and sisters, Nadine Busby and Charlene Rose. The family wishes to thank everyone at the Garland Care Center in Garland, Texas for everything they have done for their mother. You were her other family. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
