Leatrice Joy Watson Wilkinson was born to Louis James and Bessie Viola Fisher in Bastrop County. She lived in Bastrop County until 1939 when her family moved to Kermit, Texas. She attended middle school and high school in Colorado City, Texas.
Leatrice married James Hubert Watson on December 22, 1946 and they were married for forty years until his passing in 1986. They resided in Denver City, Texas for sixteen years and in 1964 they moved to Abilene, Texas. She was employed by Abilene Christian University from 1965 until 1999.
She is survived by her three daughters, Laura Cooper and husband, Tom of McKinney, Texas, Gloria Daniel of Plano, Texas, Lynne Hall and husband, Lynn of Sherwood, Arkansas; grandchildren, Brent Cooper and wife, Amy, Curt Cooper, Kara Edwards, Kim Daniel, Christopher Hall, Whitney Hall and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Bessie Fisher; first husband, Hubert Watson; husband, Harold Wilkinson; sister, Gloria Marie Fisher and granddaughter, Tonya Denise Daniel.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at High Pointe Church of Christ in McKinney, Texas with Brent Cooper, Curt Cooper and John York officiating. Interment will be held at Elmwood Memorial Park, Abilene, Texas.
