Lavone I. Edwards, age 77, of Lucas, Texas, formerly a 45 year resident of Plano, passed away October 11, 2008. She was born November 16, 1930 in New London, Iowa to Elmer Herman and Callie Maxine (Tucker) Lee. On August 3, 1952 she married Eugene Lee Edwards in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2006. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Plano. Lavone was a dedicated mother and housewife. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Clark and husband, William Ernest of Garland, David Edwards and wife, Crystal of Van Alstyne and Diane Williams of Lucas; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Doris Cummings and husband, Bill of Ottumwa, Iowa, Merna Miller and husband, Dale of Fairfield, Iowa, Laurene Sprott and husband, John of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church, Allen, Texas with Rev. Todd Harris officiating. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Monday afternoon to pay their respects and to sign the register book. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas.
