LaVerne Chandler

Mr. LaVerne Chandler formerly of Plano, Texas passed away on April 10, 2006 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He was born on February 8, 1926 in Dallas, Texas to Albert Preston and Vivian Irene (Harrison) Chandler. He married Madye Joe Skelton on July 2, 1943 in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Chandler was a carpenter and builder and was of the Southern Baptist faith. He served in the U.S. Army in the Horse Calvary serving in the China Burma India Theater. He loved flying remote controlled airplanes and was a member of the North Dallas Flying Club. Mr. Chandler is survived by his wife of 63 years, Madye Joy Chandler; daughter, Barbara Jean Chandler-Knopp and husband, Richard of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; son, James Richard Chandler and friend Marsha of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Tim Hughes, Robin Hewitt, Holly Zuge, Lesa Kensey and Jason Chandler; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Tommy Chandler. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 14, 2006 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Don Bourland officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Thursday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
