Funeral services for Laura Louise Golden Ward, 89 year old Celeste resident, are scheduled for Saturday August 15th at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Celeste. Rev. James Ralson and Rev. K.C. Sanders will officiate. The interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 15th at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Hugo, Oklahoma. Family visitation will be Friday August 14th from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel of Leonard. Mrs. Ward was born September 23, 1919 at Milton, Texas. Her parents were William Jefferson and Cara Lee Southerland Golden. She married Robert Lee Ward December 14, 1945 at Ft. Worth, Texas. She was a retired school teacher, a member of the First Baptist Church of Celeste and a member of the Celeste Arts and Crafts Club. She passed away Wednesday August 12th at the Leonard Manor. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Robert Daniel & Kittie Ward of Port Orchard, Washington; her daughter and son-in-law: Donna Elaine & Charles Blackstock of Celeste, Texas; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Opal Lewis, Mary Elizabeth “Lib” & Billy Ward Robinson of Glen Rose, Tx. and Jo and Bob Groves of Paris, Texas; her grandchildren: Deanna Tiller and Shari Curtiss of Celeste, Texas; Robert & Jeri Wood of Celeste, Texas, Danita Ward of Buffalo Valley, OK., Dickie & Tammy Ward of Fallon, Nevada & Tony & Janell Ward of Bremerton, Washington; her two step-grandchildren: James Blackstock of Celeste, Texas and Garry Blackstock of Commerce, Texas. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson (Roy Mark Wood), a granddaughter (Laney Ward) and a great grandson (Kalem Williams). Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
