Laura Jo Williams Alexander was born November 2, 1916 in Whitewright, Texas to Mallie V. Williams and Frankie Sue Autrey Williams. She married Manuell F. Alexander on November 3, 1934 in Bonham, Texas. She died Monday, February 17, 2014 in Arlington, Texas at the age of 97.
Laura Jo was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church in Whitewright, she later became a member of South Euless Baptist Church. She was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Whitewright.
She is survived by daughter, Wanda McKinney and husband Jim of Bedford; daughter, Rochelle Crump and husband Reg of Grand Prairie; daughter, Amy Jo Geer and husband Thomas of Hurst; grandson, Rick McKinney and wife Kimberly of Mansfield, and sons, Brad and Sterling; granddaughter, Sharon Bassett of Euless, and daughter, Rebekah; granddaughter, Cari Jo Alexander and husband Stephen of Hurst, and son William; brother, Mack Williams and wife Jessie of Whitewright; sister, Barbara Wilson of Whitewright; sister-in-law, Loretta Jackman of Bastrop; sister-in-law, Betty Bodine and husband Joe of Whitewright; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Manuell Alexander; parents, Mallie and Frankie Williams; brother, J.P. Williams; and sister-in-law, Estelle Williams.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 5:00pm at South Euless Baptist Church, 1000 Simmons Drive, Euless, TX 76040. Graveside Services will be held Friday, February 21, 2014 at 11:00am at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright. Officiating the service will be Tom Goodson.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Thursday to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
