Larry Odell, age 65, of Blue Ridge, Texas passed away on November 28, 2014. He was born January 26, 1949, in Matador, Texas to Fidel and Billie Joe (Baker) Perez. Larry graduated from high school in Utah. He joined the United States Marine Corps after school and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Upon his release from the military, Larry enjoyed the music scene in Nashville, Tennessee for a while. He then moved to Albany, Georgia, where he met and married Judy Hannah; they had three children together. Later, Larry moved to Bellville, Illinois where he ran his own safety supply business for several years. He finally came home to Texas in 2005 where he settled down with his wife, Kathy Schoen. Larry loved to play his guitar and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Schoen of Blue Ridge, Texas; children, Elisabeth Beasley and husband Jonathan of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Hannah Pollard and husband Dave of Abingdon, Virginia and James Odell of Joplin, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Kelly Odell of Lubbock, Texas, Ross Odell of Richardson, Texas and Mike Odell and wife Wendy of McKinney, Texas; sister, Mona Darrow and husband Doug of Shamrock, Texas.
Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Billie Joe Baker.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.
