Larry G. Ensminger

Mr. Larry G. Ensminger, age 66, of McKinney, Texas passed away January 12, 2006, in Frisco, Texas. He was born and grew up in Dodge City, Kansas were he played football, basketball, baseball, ran track and played in a dance band. He attended Dodge City Junior College and received a BA and MA from Kansas State College of Emporia. While at KSCE, he played basketball and was an assistant coach. He enjoyed English and writing classes and continued his reading and honed his writing skills over the years. In 1962 he married Donna Ratcliff. Their daughter, Ingrid was born in 1968. For the past 25 years he has been married to Jan. Larry coached at Pan American College, worked for the Missouri Valley Conference, and worked in the election equipment business for 30 years. He was VP of Advanced Voting Solutions of Frisco, Texas at the time of his death. He enjoyed writing short stories, Broadway musicals, Oklahoma University football, heartfelt patriotism, and his “3 girls” Dusty, Boomer and Sooner (cats). He was a loving husband, father, friend, uncle and associate and will be truly missed. He is survived by his wife, Jan Ensminger of McKinney; mother, Marjorie Ensminger of Denton, Texas; daughter, Ingrid Giordano and husband, Tyler Lincks of Frisco, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Luci Ensminger of Denton; uncles, Duane Eads and wife, Marcia and Art Eads and wife, Rosalyn all of Loveland, Colorado; stepson, Kurt Eckstrom and wife, Jennifer of Allen, Texas; nephew, Derek Ensminger of Norman, Oklahoma; and niece, Kara Arnold and husband, Matt of Keller, Texas. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2006 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his name to the American Heart Association or the SPCA.
