Larry (Dude) Don Scott

Larry Don Scott (Dude), age 59 of Celina, TX passed away on March 6th, 2009 in Denton, TX. He was born December 2nd, 1949 to Millard and Bernice (Jordan) Scott. Upon graduation from Garland High School in 1969, he entered the United States Navy until 1973 at which time he went to work as a farm laborer for the Squires out of Oklahoma. He re-enlisted in the US Navy in 1977 and retired as a Chief Gunners Mate (E7) after 22 years. He married Paula Davis Holsbeke in 1997 and adopted Rebecca Joan and Nicholas Michael later that same year. Upon retirement from the military, he worked locally for Marmon Motors, City of Frisco, Sailed the Great Lakes as an Able Seaman for a short time and began his career with the City of Denton working for the Water Department as an Operator in 2000. He is survived by his wife Paula of Celina, TX; daughter Rebecca Caviness and husband David of The Colony, TX; son Nick Scott and wife Holly of McKinney, TX; mother Bernice Johnson of Sachse, TX; sister Rebecca Heider and husband Ken of Farmersville, TX; brother Ronnie Scott of Buena Park, CA; grandchildren Haley Scott age 10, Noah Scott, 22 months and Haven Scott, 3 weeks; niece Wendy Peters and husband Tracy of Nevada, TX; nephew Daniel O'Brien and wife Amanda of Farmersville, TX; great nephews Travis, Tyler and Cayden and great niece Baylee. He was preceded in death by his father Millard Edward Scott and step father John Howard Johnson. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel , I75 @ Ridgeview in Allen.
