LaRa Woznicki

LaRa Petit Woznicki, age 73 of Frisco, Texas, passed away on August 13, 2013, at her home after a brave struggle with brain cancer. She was born on January 4, 1940, in San Angelo, Texas to Robert and Vera (Gazaway) Petit. LaRa was a graduate of Seminole High School and Hardin Simmons University. Following college, she became an elementary and middle school teacher.

LaRa married Eugene J. Woznicki on October 10, 1980 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  What followed were 33 years of marital bliss for both, setting a wonderful example of a loving relationship for their children and friends.

LaRa was predeceased by her parents and beloved older brother, Jack Harbour. She is survived by her husband, Gene Woznicki of Frisco, Texas; children, Lori Kangun Welch of Austin, Texas, Robert Kangun of Houston, Texas, Lori Woznicki of Austin, Texas, Kim Iwanski (Tom) of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Ginger Woznicki (Ken Namowicz) of Erie, Colorado; grandchildren, Riley, Kate and Reagan Welch, Analise and Isabel Iwanski; dear brother, Dean Harbour of Palm Springs, California; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Her beauty, strength and loving nature will never be forgotten by those who loved her. She was a wonderful mother and will always be “Ome” to her grandchildren, whom she adored (and who adored her). LaRa was also a fabulous cook, a gracious host, a proud native Texas, and an avid bridge player. She was devoted to her many friends, her husband and her family.

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. A Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in The Colony, Texas with Father Michael Holmberg presiding. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park in Frisco, Texas.
