Mr. Lance Edward Jackson, age 39, of Plano, Texas passed away September 23, 2010, at the Baylor Dallas Medical Center after a long and valiant fight against cancer. He was born December 15, 1970, in Dallas, Texas to Benny C. and Cynthia (Garrett) Jackson. He grew up in Corpus Christi and was active in Asbury United Methodist Church. He was a 1989 graduate of Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the graduating class of 1993, and later became a Century Club Member. On November 23, 1996, he married Janice Patton in Corpus Christi. Lance was employed for many years with DataCert Inc. He was involved in a mission trip to Mexico with the organization “Hero Makers”, an outreach for at risk children. Lance loved spending time and traveling with his family, and watching his kids play sports. He was a great fan of Texas A&M and the Dallas Cowboys. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed riding four-wheelers. Lance is survived by his wife, Janice and children, Ally, Ryan and Dylan all of Plano, Texas; parents, Benny and Cynthia Jackson and brother, Brian Jackson and wife, Tara and their children, Garrett, Ross and Brent all of McKinney, Texas; mother-in-law, Judy Patton of Plano, Texas; mother and father-in-law, Brenda and John Patton Sr. of Burke, Virginia; brothers-in-law, John Patton, Jr. USN and his children, Blake, Clay and Paige of San Diego, California, and William Dees of San Antonio, Texas; and a host of other loving family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Grace Community Church, 4501 Hedgcoxe Road in Plano with Pastor George Feiser officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Baylor Cancer Center - Kidney Cancer Research.
