Ladelle Strickland, of Princeton, Texas, passed away on February 9, 2013, at the age of 81. He was born on November 19, 1931, in Princeton, Texas, to Weldon Oather and Donna (Butler) Strickland. On March 11, 1950, Ladelle married Doris Jean Godwin, in Farmersville, Texas. He worked for Wylie Butane for fourteen years, and was self-employed from 1986 until 1996 at Strick”s Propane. Ladelle served two terms on the Princeton School Board in the 1960’s.
He is survived by his sons, Monty Strickland and wife Carol, Tim Strickland and wife Ronda, all of Princeton, Texas; grandchildren, Courtney Morris and husband Danny, Kane Strickland and wife Stephanie, Kyle Strickland and wife Rosanna, all of Princeton, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kaylee, Brendon, Braden, Emma, Reagan, Colton and Easton; brother, Terry Duane “Pinky” Strickland and wife Tilla of Dallas, Texas.
Ladelle is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Strickland and sister, Janelle Woychesin.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Princeton Cemetery, in Princeton, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday evening, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, in Allen, Texas.
