L. George Reynolds

L. George Reynolds, Sr., age 77, of McKinney, Texas, passed away December 1, 2011, in McKinney. George was born April 10, 1934, in Munday, Texas, to Rosa Yarbrough. He was adopted by Justus Horner “J.H.” and Juanita Reynolds when he was six years old. He married Joey Dean Reynolds on December 23, 2004, in McKinney. George received his bachelor degree from Texas Tech University and his master degree from Texas Christian University. George was a Petroleum Geologist in the oil and gas industry for many years. He was also in the Insurance Business as a Chartered Life Underwriter. He loved spending time with his family. He held a pilot’s license and enjoyed flying airplanes for business and pleasure. George also enjoyed vintage cars and loved watching NFL football on Sundays. He donated to various charities. He was also a member of several business organizations. George proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He is survived by his wife, Joey Reynolds of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Diana Stevens and husband, Lee of Plano, Texas and Lora Reynolds and husband, Quincy Lee of Austin, Texas; sons, L. George Reynolds, Jr. and significant other, Charles Lewis of Austin, Texas, Jeffery Reynolds of Dallas, Texas, and Daryl Reynolds and wife, Lauren of Morgantown, West Virginia; grandchildren, Justus Stevens and Colton Stevens, both of Plano, Texas, Deogratias George Mkira Mushi of Tanzania, Anna Reynolds, Nadia Reynolds, and Aaron Reynolds, all of Morgantown, West Virginia, Georgia Lee and Wilder Lee, both of Austin, Texas; step-sons, Ross Gorman of Ft. Worth, Texas, Brian Gorman and wife, Mary of Waco, Texas, and Paul Gorman and wife, Pat of McKinney, Texas; step-grandchildren, Laney Gorman and Lindsay Gorman, both of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jesse Gorman, Nathan Gorman, Luke Gorman, and Julia Gorman, all of Waco, Texas, Lily Gorman and Abby Gorman, both of McKinney, Texas; sister, Billie Swafford of Arlington, Texas; and aunts, Idel, Fern, and Mignon. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. H. and Juanita Reynolds, biological mother, Rosa Yarbrough, brother, Charles Yarbrough, and sisters, Wanda and Raydeen. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Pastor James Nored officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
