Krissa Ann (Thompson) Graves

Krissa Ann (Thompson) Graves was born in McCook, Nebraska, on May 3, 1982 to Josh Thompson and Cherryl Grimes. She passed away from this life on May 14, 2011, in Plano, Texas. She attended elementary and high school in both Oklahoma and Texas. Krissa was active in church activities, basketball, and played the trumpet in her high school band. She was a 2000 graduate of Poteet High School in Mesquite, Texas. After high school Krissa worked in several different restaurants before attending Collin County Community College in Plano. She was very close to earning her certification in American Sign Language at the time of her death. Krissa loved to sing and would go to karaoke with her friends any time she got the chance. In 2007 Krissa met the love of her life – James Anthony Graves. After they met, it was very rare not to see them together. They were married on May 24, 2008, in Flower Mound, Texas. Although their time together was short, they were a perfect match and completely adored each other. Krissa is survived by her loving husband, James, of the home; her mother, Cherryl Grimes, of Edmond, Oklahoma; her father, Josh Thompson, of Richardson, Texas; her sister and brother-in-law, Darah and Jason Henley, and her very special nephews, Logan and Carson, of Edmond, Oklahoma; a sister, Randah Thompson, of Richardson, Texas; her maternal grandparents, Ernest and Jo Grimes, of Altus, Oklahoma; and countless uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of friends. Visitation for Krissa will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, at Turrentine, Jackson, and Morrow Funeral Home, 75 @ Ridgeview Drive, McKinney, Texas. Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 19, at Highland Oaks Church of Christ, 10805 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas, 75238.
