IN LOVING MEMORY

Kimberly Williams Self

Jun 04 1968 - Jan 31 2014

Kimberly Williams Self, a loving wife, daughter, mother, sister and friend, passed away on January 31,2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 45. Kim was raised in Natchitoches, LA and it remained one of her favorite places. She attended Natchitoches Central High School and graduated from Northwestern State University. It was after college that she met and married Ronnie Self and moved to McKinney, TX where she started her family.

Kim is survived by her loving husband Ronnie Self of McKinney, TX; son, Grayson Self; daughter, Ronna Boyd and husband Joshua ; grandchildren, Sawyer Boyd and Tucker Boyd; parents, Kenneth and Viola Williams of Natchitoches, LA; sisters, Chris Pipes and husband Robert of West Monroe, LA and Michele Lutz and husband Mike of Nashville, TN; along with several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.  Kim was a member the First Baptist Church in McKinney.

Kim will always be remembered as a kind and loving person. Others describe Kim as artistic, generous and someone who found humor in all situations. Kim loved with her whole heart. She had a gentle spirit and a dry wit. Kim had the ability to live in the moment, always present and listening. She was a loyal friend and cared more about others than she did of herself. Kim could always make people laugh and was a wonderful story teller. Her smile and laughter warmed the hearts of friends and strangers alike. She was a dedicated wife and devoted mother to Ronna and Grayson. She also had a very special relationship with her two grandsons who brought her much joy. She was so blessed to have especially close and wonderful friends and family with whom she shared much love. She will be deeply missed.

The family is extremely grateful for the love and support of friends, family and many medical professionals that have cared for Kim during her illness.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2014 at The First Baptist Church McKinney with Rev. Bob Billups officiating.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, TX. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
