IN LOVING MEMORY

Kieron Patrick Finnegan

Mar 17 1961 - Jan 14 2010

Kieron Patrick Finnegan, our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, is gone and we stand in the wake of grief as we remember his sense of joy and love of life. Kieron was the second child born to Sandra and Michael Finnegan on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, in 1961; his red hair, blue eyes and infectious laugh defined the very nature of his poetic soul. Kieron graduated from Richardson high school; he then received a BA from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and a master’s of English from University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). After graduation, he taught English at various colleges and spent two years in Cairo at the American University. He found absolute joy in introducing his students to the intoxicating world of literature, where William Faulkner, Tennessee Williams and Mark Twain came to life under Kieron’s eloquent direction. In this orb, the mundane was translated to beauty and the ordinary to sublime. We send you forth on a sea of love: Kieron Go Bragh. Kieron will be forever missed by his parents, Michael and Sandra Finnegan of Plano, Texas; siblings, Kathleen Bethay and her husband, Brett of Keller, Texas, Christine Finnegan of Frisco, Texas, Damon Finnegan of Plano, Texas, Michael Finnegan, Jr. and his wife, Melanie of Frisco, Texas, Suzanna Guyton and her husband, Jon of Austin, Texas; nieces and nephews, Tristan, Kaitlin, Keegan, Sarah Riley, Patrick, Aubrey, Emma Reese, Henry Finn and Juliet. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco, Texas 75034 with Father Kevin Finnegan presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Kieron Go Bragh foundation through the Dallas Foundation, 900 Jackson Street, Suite 150 www.dallasfoundation.org, 214-741-9898.
