Kenneth Paul "K.P." Wright

Kenneth P. Wright, Sr, beloved to all as ‘K.P.’, passed away March 24, 2006 in his home in Allen, Texas. He was 61 years old. K.P. was born on June 20, 1944 in Mt. Vernon, New York, to Everett Jay Wright and Mae Alice (Corke) Wright. K.P. served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea. On November 13, 1975, he married Ruth Ann (Myers) Roberts in Hobbs, New Mexico. Mr. Wright had a career in law enforcement. He served with the Hobbs Police Department for 11 years, starting as a patrolman and promoting to rank of Chief of the Detective Division. He then moved to Kansas, where he completed his career as Chief of Police. Mr. Wright is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Ruth Ann, sons, Kenneth Paul Wright Jr and Kevin Patrick Wright both of Kansas City, Kansas. Kami Lee Randolph and Karen Rhoades of Hobbs, New Mexico, Kathy Tenner of Allen, Texas, Sue Worthy of San Antonio, Texas, and Michael Roberts of Temecula, California. He is also survived by grand children, Haley and Brett of Kansas City, Korbi and Kutter, Sasha, Samantha and Jason, of Hobbs, Matthew and Lauren of San Antonio, Kacy, Jera, Jordonn and Cameron of Allen, and Michael, Christina, and Rachel of Temecula. In his later years, Papa became the light of life to his great grand children, K’lyn, Kelcey, and Kandis of Allen. Brothers, Doug Wright of California, and Keith Wright and Kevin Wright of New York; sister, Sharon Carrey of Connecticut also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Wayne and Freddie. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, March 30, 2006, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Fitghugh Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with Rosary at 7:00, Wednesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
