Kenneth Ray Lewis, age 74, of the Branch Community, Texas, passed away November 24, 2007 in McKinney, Texas after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s. Kenneth was born February 4, 1933 in Lucas, Texas to John T. and Helen (Biggs) Lewis. He married Patsy Flanagan on October 19, 1995 in Durant, Oklahoma. A hard working farmer, he received many awards such as “Collin County Farmer of the Year” in 1965 and “Star Young Farmer” in 1969. Active in his church and community, he served many years on the Grayson-Collin Electric Board, the Soil Conservation Board, the Lovejoy School Board and the Lucas City Council and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He belonged to the First United Methodist Church, Lucas, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Patsy; daughters, Carol McCahill and her husband, Thomas of Littleton, Colorado, Lisa Griffin and her husband, Ben of McKinney, Texas and Susan Gillis and husband, Bruce of Harrold, Texas; son, Kenny Lewis and wife, Monica of Clarksville, Texas; nine grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, James Lewis of McKinney, Texas, Billy Lewis of Castle Rock, Colorado and Gerald Lewis of Parker, Texas; sisters, Glenda Ford of Florence, Alabama and Barbara Curtis of Fairview, Texas; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the wonderful staff members of Autumn Leaves of McKinney and to the caregivers from Harris Hospice for the care you provided and for your support for the family, you are truly special to us. The family would also like to thank Pastor Darrell Coats for his love and support. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in McKinney, Texas with Pastor Darrell Coats officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM.
