Kenneth Edward Heffner, age 60, of McKinney, Texas, passed away June 26, 2009, in McKinney. Ken was born January 20, 1949 in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, to Paul Edward and Nancy (Gross) Heffner. He married Ellen Forsythe on November 4, 1967 in Reedsville, Pennsylvania. Ken recently retired as a real estate agent and filled his time by volunteering. He was a thirty year telecom professional and was employed with Nortel Networks for fourteen years. He was also employed with Sprint/United Telecom in Kansas City, A T & T, and later MCI in Washington, D.C. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas. Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War (1969-1970). He is survived by his wife, Ellen of McKinney, Texas; sons, Michael Heffner and his wife, Suzanne of Holly Springs, North Carolina and Sean Heffner and his wife, Kimberly of Salado, Texas; six grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Benjamin, Aubrey, Jade, and Kaelyn. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 29, 2009, at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas with Rev. Bart Smith officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation at the church following the service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
