Ken Meek, 82, of Plano, Texas, passed away February 16, 2011, in Plano. Ken was born July 25, 1928, in Winters, Texas, to John Denton and Marty Mae (Fikes) Meek. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Velda Meek in 2004. Ken married Suzanne Aljets on February 26, 2005 in Plano. Ken held a bachelor degree from the University of Corpus Christi and attended Southwestern Theological Seminary. He was a Southern Baptist Minister for twenty-five years in Texas and was a member of First Baptist Church in Plano for forty-two years. Ken worked with the Texas Baptist Men and volunteered with Buckner Children’s Home. He is survived by his wife of six years, Suzanne Meek of Plano, Texas; daughter, Kathy Jean Mills and husband Larry also of Plano; son, Danny Meek and wife, Sherry of Allen, Texas; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and step-son, Tim and Therese Wilhoite and their four children of Plano, Texas. He was also preceded in death by his brother, J. D. Meek. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
