Kells Hagood, age 62, of Allen, Texas, passed away on November 9, 2013. He was born on June 5, 1951 in Atlanta, Georgia to Howard Boland and Marguerite (Couch) Hagood. Kells loved to coach and he coached several teams for his kids over the years. He loved to play golf. Kells was active in Junior Achievement. His most defining characteristic, however, was his ability to persevere despite the pain and suffering he had to endure over the last thirteen years of his life. He was an amazing father with a fun-loving spirit, who instilled in his children a true appreciation for family and life itself.
He is survived by his son, Matt Hagood and girlfriend Ashley Coots of Plano, Texas; daughter, Sarah Leverett and husband Carson of Amarillo, Texas; former wife, Chandra Hagood of McKinney, Texas; mother, Marguerite Cammons of Austell, Georgia; brothers, Randy Hagood and wife Linda of Powder Springs, Georgia and Glenn Cammons and wife Charlene of Lawrenceville, Georgia; sisters, Lisa Elmore and husband Doug of Alabama and Kim Cammons of Douglasville, Georgia; mother-in-law, Charlene Caldwell of Ellenwood, Georgia and a host of other loving family and friends.
Kells was preceded in death by his father, Howard Boland Hagood and father-in-law, Butch Caldwell.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
