Kayley Kathryn Winburn of McKinney, Texas passed away October 30, 2016, at the age of 20. She was born January 1, 1996, to Tommy Don Winburn and Julie (Newsom) Winburn in McKinney, Texas. Kayley was a 2014 graduate of McKinney North High School in McKinney, Texas. She was a beautiful, hardworking young woman who had a heart for helping others. As a child, she loved being outside. Kayley loved to play in the rain and slide down the hills, covered in mud. All visits to East Texas included rides on the tractor, fishing for hours, and assisting with any chore inside or out. As a teenager, her love for animals and agriculture led her into FFA where she raised goats and steers. Kayley spent hours each week working with her animals and her dedication paid off when she won her class at the County Show with the smallest goat in the entire county. She also tamed three steers, refusing to give up and to let go of the rope as they drug her through the barn day after day. After high school, Kayley worked at various jobs until she found where she knew she belonged. She worked as a caregiver at a senior assisted living facility where she loved helping the residents with their daily needs. Kayley was happiest when helping others.
She is survived by her mother, Julie Newsom Crump and step-father, Tommy Crump of McKinney, Texas; siblings, Mallory Winburn, Emily Crump, Toby Crump, and Ty Crump all of McKinney, Texas; grandparents, Tommy Joe and Judy Winburn of McKinney, Texas, Monty and Carolyn Newsom of Mt. Vernon, Texas, and Elizabeth Crump of McKinney, Texas; uncle, Michael Newsom and wife Andi of Midlothian, Texas; aunts, Christi Dysart and husband Jay of Long Beach, California, Christi Parker and husband Chris of Richardson, Texas, Kathi Smith and husband Tony of McKinney, Texas, and Shannon Winburn of McKinney, Texas; cousins, Jacob, Lucas, and Micah Dysart, Davis and Katie Bell Newsom, Morgan, Macey, Makenzie Winburn, Matt and Andrew Smith, and Carson Parker and numerous other loving family and friends.
Kayley was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Don Winburn, uncle, Timothy Winburn, and grandfather, Thomas Weldon Crump.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas with Pastor Jason Norton officiating. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
