Kathryn Caldwell Eubanks

Kathryn Caldwell Eubanks, age 90, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of McKinney, Texas, passed away May 29, 2013, in Dallas. Kathryn was born October 26, 1922, in McKinney, Texas, to Roy and Minnie (Howell) Caldwell. She married Kenneth Ray Eubanks on April 9, 1949, in McKinney. Kathryn attended public schools in McKinney and after graduation in 1940, she attended North Texas State University where she graduated with a bachelor degree in Library Services. She worked as a librarian at the Army Hospital in McKinney, as well as the Veteran’s Administration and the McKinney Job Corp facility from which she retired in 1974. Kathryn served as a trail guide and docent at the Heard Museum for twenty years. She was also a docent at the Heard Craig House for the last ten years where she was presented with the McKinney Volunteer of the Year award in 2003 along with a lifetime membership. Kathryn was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church of McKinney where she was a Sunday School teacher and established a church library.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay Eubanks Bywaters and husband, Bill of Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Eubanks, parents, Roy and Minnie Caldwell, and brother, Roy Caldwell, Jr.

A cryptside service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, May 31, 2013, at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 31, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
