Kathlyn (Kitty) Leatherman

Kathlyn (Kitty) Leatherman, passed away on December 3, 2007 in Denton, Texas. Kathlyn was born August 20, 1908 in Snyder, Scurry County, Texas to Henry and Mattie McCormick. She moved with her family to Frisco, Texas in 1918. Kathlyn graduated from Frisco High School and later moved to Dallas, Texas where she spent almost sixty years of her life working in the insurance industry. Kathlyn was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, 1822 West 10th Street, Dallas, Texas. In later years, when returned to Frisco, she attended the First United Methodist Church in Frisco. In most recent years, she has been a resident of the Vintage Retirement Community in Denton, Texas She is survived by one sister, Ruth Borchardt of Frisco, Texas; step-son, Ed Leatherman, Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews who knew her as aunt “Kat” and will always remember her for her faith in God and giving spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ed Leatherman; her brothers, Morris Lynn McCormick of Dallas; Robert Caswell McCormick of Oak Point and John Thaddeus (J.T) McCormick of Ft Worth, Texas; and her sisters, Grace Miller of Snyder, Texas and Gladys Hays of Haslet, Texas A Graveside Service will be held at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Rev Ted Kiser officiating. Family and friends are invited to the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco at their convenience on Tuesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday beginning at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
