Karen Hunter, age 57, of Plano, Texas passed away November 1, 2012. She was born June 11, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Allen Boyce Eddington and Dale Ernestine (Land) Eddington. On August 2, 1975 she married Tom Hunter in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Karen grew up in Tulsa where she attended schools and graduated from Tulsa Memorial High School in 1973. In high school, she was a competitive synchronized swimmer. She graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a bachelor degree in business in 1977. Karen was an insurance agent for six years with State Farm. Her hobbies included working puzzles and making crafts. Karen enjoyed cooking. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds and bunnies. Karen was an accomplished pianist and organist. She obtained her Rifleman First Class certification. Karen was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Hunter of Plano, Texas; children, Thomas Allen Hunter and wife, Michelle of Dallas, Texas, Sarah Hunter of Plano, Texas; sister, Claudia Crafton and husband, Gary of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother, Allen B. Eddington II and wife, Ronna of Washington D.C. and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Ernestine Eddington.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Monday, November 5, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
