Justin Matthew “Matt” Kendall, age 34, of McKinney, Texas, passed away July 29, 2009, in McKinney. Matt was born March 11, 1975 in Atlanta, Georgia to Roland Byron and Nellie (Simpkins) Kendall. Matt grew up in Riverdale, Georgia where he graduated in 1993 from Landmark Christian Academy in Fairburn, Georgia. He received an associate degree from Gordon College, a bachelor degree from University of West Georgia. He married Sharon Werle on June 12, 1999 in Panama City, Florida. Matt and Sharon later moved to Texas where Matt obtained his master degree from Southern Methodist University. Matt was employed with Raytheon for the last five years. He enjoyed hiking as well as sports and technological interests. Matt also held a black belt in Karate. He was a member of Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church in Allen, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Kendall of McKinney, Texas; parents, Roland Kendall of Naples, Florida and Nellie Kendall of Riverdale, Georgia; brother, John Kendall and his wife, Tammy and their daughter, Cora of Peachtree City, Georgia; sister, Kathy Kendall Spence and her husband, Donnie and their son, Sam of Stockbridge, Georgia; several aunts and uncles; and a host of other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends during a visitation to be held on Sunday, August 2, 2009 from 3:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 3, 2009, at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church, 1015 State Hwy. 121, Allen, Texas with Rev. John Wood officiating. A graveside service will take place at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery in Lithonia, Georgia on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. under the direction of Henry Funeral Home in Lithonia. The family will receive friends at Henry Funeral Home in Lithonia from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church, Missions Department, 1015 State Hwy. 121, Allen, Texas, 75013.
