Juretta S. Kennedy age 69, of Prosper, Texas passed away on January 13, 2009. She was born on August 10, 1939 in Amarillo, Texas to William and Pearl (Branum) Copeland. On November 23, 1966 she married William Rayford Kennedy in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2007. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas in 1957. She retired from Prosper State Bank as the assistant cashier, after over 15 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her son, Paul Kennedy and his wife Stephanie, of Prosper, Texas; daughters: Christie Hines and Jill Kennedy both of Prosper, Texas; grandchildren, Taylor Hines, Sarah Kennedy and Hallie Kennedy; stepmother, Annie Copeland of Lubbock, Texas; brother, Roger Copeland and his wife Patricia of Dallas, Texas; sister, Debbie Copeland of Lubbock, Texas; and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother William “Tommy” Copeland. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2009 in the Chapel at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, with Jerry Weems officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in Lowry Crossing, Texas. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., on Friday, January 16, 2009 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
