Julia Louise Jacks

Julia Louise Jacks, age 88, of Van Alstyne, Texas passed away on December 6, 2013. She was born on November 30, 1925 in Spencerville, Oklahoma to Martha Elizabeth (Clelland) Lloyd and Richard Lloyd. Julia married Richard “Bill” Jacks on August 21, 1943 in Duncan, Oklahoma. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Banking Industry along with many years of creative endeavors with fabric, at one time she was president of the Irving Texas Women’s Chamber of commerce. Her passions were many, she loved working in her flower garden, was an awesome seamstress and enjoyed doing crafts and sharing her knowledge of such with others, most of all she loved people and was a dear friend to all who knew her. She was a member of First Baptist Van Alstyne, she loved her Lord Jesus Christ and her love of him was evident by the way she lived her life.

Julia is survived by her daughter, Myrna Barr and her husband, David of Van Alstyne, Texas; two grandchildren, Roger Nolen and his wife, LeighAnn and Lori Beth Saxman and her husband, Brian; two great-grandchildren, Julia Kay Nolen and Jacob Paul Nolen; two nephews, Harold Williams and Edward J. Williams and numerous nieces and nephews.

Julia is preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Bill” Jacks, her son Roger Ray Jacks, and her parents, Martha and Richard Lloyd.

A Funeral Service will be held by Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow at the First Baptist Church in Van Alstyne, 121 E Marshall St, Van Alstyne TX on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jimmy Tarrant officiating. Interment will follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery. 

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the church on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 1:00 PM immediately prior to the service.
