IN LOVING MEMORY

Judieth (Judi) Ann Townsend

Oct 27 1946 - May 08 2011

Judieth Ann Townsend (Judi) age 64, of Plano, Texas, joined her lord and savior while surrounded by her family on May 8, 2011. On October 27, 1946, Judi was born to Ms. Wylodean Wray in Washington, DC. Though her birthplace was Washington, DC, she grew up living with her grandmother, Ms. Myrtle Kelly, in Eclectic, Alabama, and was a proud graduate of Elmore County High School. In 1965, Judi was introduced by a mutual friend to the love of her life, Woodrow Townsend (Woody). Their courtship was brief, but both knew that they had met their true love and were married for 45 years on September 25, 1965. Judi will always be remembered for having that zest for life and always willing to lend an ear to those who needed comfort and guidance. Judi was an active member at the Reformed Church in Plano for over 25 years and had many close friends there. After a 20 year career with PBS&J, Judi decided that it was time to retire so she could spend more time with her family and doing volunteer work at My Friends House, a non-profit for displaced children, a true testament of her caring nature. Above all else, Judi adored her grandchildren, Dylan and Quinn, and spent as much time with them showering them with her love and teaching them her wisdom. Judi was a remarkable lady who touched many lives and will truly be missed by all who knew her. Judi is preceded in death by her mother Wylodean Wray and grandmother Myrtle Kelly. She is survived by her husband Woody Townsend of Plano, TX, children Eric Townsend (Michelle) and Kelly Hatcher both of Frisco, TX, grandchildren Dylan Hatcher and Quinn Townsend, two brothers Sam and Fred Craddock, sister Sherry Showalter, all residing in Virginia, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial celebrating Judi’s life will be held on Saturday May 21, 2011 at 10 am at the Reformed Church in Plano, located at 5333 Independence Pkwy., Plano, TX, 75023. Pastor Mike Hardeman officiating.
