Juanita Overall Houston (Nita, Mother, Grandmother) was born July 7, 1920 in Nacogdoches, TX and passed from this life on Sunday, April 25, 2010. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Lola and Joe Gentle, father, Clyde Overall, sisters; Dorothy Fulson, Grace Durbin, Irene Raper, Kathryn Scott and brother Carlos Gentle. Juanita is survived by her husband, Samuel D. Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Pat Houston of San Antonio; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Black of Garland; 4 grandchildren; 3 grandsons-in-law; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She grew up near McKinney, TX and graduated from McKinney High School in 1938. She spent her adult life in Texas and Tennessee. She loved to sew, play the piano and organ, and entertain her many friends and family. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and lived her life in service to her Lord. She has lived the past 2 years at the Courtyard at the Christian Care Center in Mesquite, TX where she received an abundance of love and care. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Ray Hunter officiating. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
