Juanita Elam Hamilton

Juanita Elam Hamilton of McKinney, Texas passed away August 13, 2015 at the age of 90. She was born on October 20, 1924 to Erwin Franklin and Rosalie (Kitchen) Elam in Dallas, Texas. A lifelong resident of Oak Cliff, Juanita attended James Bowie Elementary School and graduated from A.H. Adamson High School in 1941. She met her husband Hanse M. Hamilton, Jr. upon his return from the Marine Corp after the war and they married February 24, 1946 in Dallas, Texas. He, too, lived in Oak Cliff. They attended Cliff Temple Baptist Church. Juanita was active in PTA, Oak Cliff Fine Arts Club, and was an avid china painter and created beautiful Chinaware. Her specialty was painting roses.

Juanita is survived by her loving husband of 69 ½ years, Hanse Hamilton of McKinney, Texas; sons, Jerry Hamilton and wife Radonna of Ft. Worth, Texas and Paul Hamilton and wife Kim of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Ryan Hamilton and wife Rachel of Abilene, Texas, Hailey Baine and husband Brian of Dallas, Texas, Elijah Hamilton of McKinney, Texas, Blake Hamilton of Dallas, Texas, Adam Hamilton and wife Jennifer of Grand Prairie, Texas and Vicki Hamilton of Ft. Worth, Texas; great-grandchildren, Mason Hamilton of Abilene, Texas and Chloe Hamilton of Ft. Worth, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lewis “Buddy” Elam.

A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, August 17, 2015 at 11:15 a.m. at Dallas Fort-Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening, August 16, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
