IN LOVING MEMORY

Juanice Fletcher

Apr 07 1926 - Nov 22 2006

When Mom became ill with terminal cancer, we discussed with her that when the time came, for her not to feel that she had to linger for her family; that we would be fine. In her resolute assuredness, she let us know that the Lord would let her know when that time would be. That tender call came on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 and the Angels took her home to be with the Lord. We’ll miss you dearly Mom! She was 80 years old at the time of her death. Juanice Fletcher was born to Roy Baxter Scroggins and Lela Belle Morris (Scroggins) on April 7, 1926 in Greenview, Texas a small community outside of Sulphur Springs. Since her father was a country Baptist preacher, they moved several times in that area. She made many friends and never met a stranger. She graduated from Pickton High School where there were approximately 20 in her class. Soon after graduation, she moved to Denison, Texas and worked for Kraft foods. There in Denison, after chasing her down on a city bus, she met the love of her life, Glidewell T. Fletcher. After returning from his WWII tour of duty in Germany, they were married on June 16, 1946 in Denison, Texas. They celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary with a multitude of family and friends on Friday, June 19, 2006. Mom was a dedicated Christian and currently a member of Waddill Street Baptist Church, and was previously a member of King Memorial Baptist Church for many years. A special thanks to countless Christian friends, who visited, called, brought food, and sent up prayers for our family and Mom. Praise God for Christian friends. What would we have done without you! She is survived by her husband, Glidewell T. Fletcher; two daughters, Cheryl Langley and husband, Randy of Duncanville; Sonja Rhea and husband, Bob of Mckinney; and one son, Kevin Fletcher of Prosper. Also surviving MeMaw, one granddaughter, Heather Rhea of McKinney; grandsons, Jeremy Landrum and wife, Patricia of Jasper, Texas; Jason Rhea of McKinney, Andrew Fletcher of Prosper, and foster grandson, Adam Sutton and wife, Belinda of Sherman.
