Fodor, Jozsef Ferenc, devoted husband of 50 years and father of three, passed away on April 18, 2011 in McKinney, Texas. Joe was born in Piliscsaba, Hungary on May 9, 1937, the youngest of four children. During the 1956 Revolution in Hungary, Joe left his home country and immigrated to Chicago, Illinois. In 1958, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. While visiting family in Stuttgart, Germany in 1959, he met the love of his life, Anna Gaspar. They were married on March 4, 1961. After 9 years of military service in Germany and Alabama, Joe, Anna and their three small children moved to Chicago where Joe began a career with Verson Allsteel Press Co. During his 39-year career as International Sales Director, the family lived in Texas, Ireland, Belgium, and New York to finally retire back in Texas in 2002. Joe deeply loved his family and was proud of his wife, children and their accomplishments. He took real pride and joy in his grandchildren and great-granddaughters. He was a dedicated member of the Dallas Frohsinn Singing Society for over 10 years, during which he served as Vice President for 1 year and President for 6 years. He is survived by his wife Anna, one sister Anna Gergely of Hungary, three children: daughter Annette Barker (Randy), daughter Susan Bishop (Darryl), and son Michael Fodor, three grandchildren: Steven Barker, Kelly Barker, and Christopher Bishop, and three great-granddaughters: Angela, Alexis, and Amanda, and his beloved watch dog, Katie. His legacy of family will endure for generations with memory-filled “Littell Family” trips to Europe, Disneyworld, Niagara Falls, Buffalo, New York, and Chicago. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dallas Frohsinn Singing Society, 6464 E. Lovers Lane, Dallas, Texas 75214 Joe will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, in McKinney, Texas. Graveside services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 1:30 p.m., at DFW National Cemetery, Lane A. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
